The University of Rome Tor Vergata has near 43.000 students, 1538 professors (including researchers) and six Faculties.

The Faculty of Humanities (Lettere e Filosofia) offers, among many other courses, the “Lingue nella società dell’informazione” three-year graduation course that aims to provide technical knowledge in information technology and a good linguistic competence in at least two languages besides English (Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, German, French, Polish).

In order to allow students direct contact with the countries whose languages they study, the University of Rome “Tor Vergata” has signed many international agreements with European and Non-EU Universities. In the field of the Portuguese language we can mention the Erasmus agreements with the Univesities of Porto, Lisbon and Coimbra as well as the non-EU agreements with the following Brazilian Universities: Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro, Pontifícia Univesidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro, Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, Universidade Federal da Bahia, Universidade de São Paulo, Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Paraná, Fundação Oswaldo Cruz, Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo, Universidade Federal de Pernambuco, Universidade Federal da Paraíba, Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul, Universidade Federal do Paraná, etc.
